Marriot, Starwood, and Hilton Hotel Brands Commended by Fortune and Travel + Leisure
Marriot has the best hotel loyalty program in the world, while Starwood’s and Hilton’s rank second and third, respectively, according to a survey jointly conducted by US business magazine Fortune and Travel + Leisure magazines.
The survey results, recently published by Fortunes in its first Business Travel Trend Report, also cited the top five amenities most valued by experienced travellers, namely: in-room technology or Wi-Fi, room comfort and design, loyalty program, late check-out and early check-in, as well as customer service.
In the Philippines, Hilton as well Starwood’s Sheraton and Westin are set to join Marriot as part of Travellers International Hotel Group’s (TIHGI) hotel portfolio. TIHGI is the owner and the operator of the first integrated resort in the country, Resorts World Manila (RWM), and upcoming property Bayshore City Resorts World.
TIHGI president Kingson Sian said, “The Fortune and Travel + Leisure report validates that we have partnered with the best hotel brands in the world, and we are delighted to know that the seasoned business travellers recognize the superiority of these brands, especially in terms of taking care of their loyal customers.”
According to Mr. Sian, Marriot Hotel at RWM currently enjoys some of the highest occupancy rates in Metro Manila. “This is why we are adding a new wing to Marriot as part of our expansion,” he said.
In addition, Hilton and Sheraton hotels are also currently under construction at RWM. The Westin brand will be part of Bayshore City Resorts World scheduled to break ground soon.
“Sheraton and Hilton will be an exciting addition to Resorts World Manila, which we target to complete by the fourth quarter of 2017. And Bayshore City Resorts World, which will have a Westin, is expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2018,” Mr. Sian revealed.
“All our additional hotels are from brands that are known to offer all the amenities most valued by discerning travellers like the readers of Fortune and Travel + Leisure,” he said.
Resorts World Manila was the main asset of TIHGI when it went public in November 2013. Mr. Sian added, “The recent injection of Bayshore City Resorts World into Travellers makes the firm the biggest leisure and entertainment company in the Philippines, that will potentially have a total of approximately 5,100 hotel rooms.”
