Hotel Okura Inks Deal with Bayshore City Resorts World
Okura Hotels & Resorts, a Japanese hotel chain, formalized its partnership with Resorts World Bayshore City, Inc. (RWBCI), owner and operator of upcoming property Bayshore City Resorts World located at the Entertainment City and 95% owned by Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (TIHGI), for the management and operation of their very first hotel in the Philippines – the “Hotel Okura Manila.”
In line with its overseas development strategy of focusing on developing Asian markets, Hotel Okura is set to open at the Entertainment City in Manila, following the launch of five-star Okura hotels in Macau and Bangkok in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
The planned construction site for Okura will cover approximately 38,000 square meters at the Bayshore City Resorts World and will offer approximately 380 guest rooms.
Representing the Japanese delegation were Hotel Okura president Toshihiro Ogita, senior corporate officer Goro Kadowaki, and InterAsia Links Co. managing director Yeonhang Chuah, while representing RWBCI were President Kingson Sian, Chief Operating Officer Stephen James Reilly, and Chief Corporate Planning Officer, Patricia May Siy.
Hotel Okura also presented a donation of USD100,000 made out to the Philippine Red Cross to help rebuild regions in the country affected by recent natural disasters as a gesture of goodwill between the Philippines and Japan.
